Where does the data come from?
Directly from official sources: CENACE for nodal prices (PML), zonal prices (PND), demand and generation; Banxico for the USD/MXN FIX rate; and the U.S. EIA for fuel benchmarks (WTI, Henry Hub). Nine automated pipelines ingest new data every day.
Why not just use CENACE's data directly?
You can — it's public. But CENACE publishes it across thousands of separate files, in inconsistent formats, with no analysis tools. NodeWatch does that work for you: it ingests, cleans, and unifies everything into one platform, so a question that would take hours of downloads and spreadsheets gets answered in seconds.
How fresh is the data?
Day-ahead (MDA) prices are ingested every evening and real-time (MTR) prices overnight, as CENACE publishes them. Other datasets — exchange rates, fuel benchmarks, generation, regional demand — are refreshed daily.
What is a PML and why does it matter?
The Precio Marginal Local (locational marginal price) is the price of energy at each node of the grid, published by CENACE. It combines three components: energy, losses, and congestion. Two nodes a few kilometers apart can have very different prices — so if you buy, sell, or generate power, what matters is the PML at your node, not the national average.
Do you cover BCA and BCS, or just the SIN?
All three electrical systems are covered: the National Interconnected System (SIN), Baja California (BCA), and Baja California Sur (BCS) — every node, every zona de carga.
Who is NodeWatch for?
